While at times these may seem to be publicity stunts, in some cases, the stories of how our favorite celebs manage to fight their way back to sobriety are truly inspirational.

In 2013, the world watched sadly as the High School Musical star had to go for various rehab programs at some of the most well-known celebrity treatment centers. His battle with drug and alcohol addiction was the subject of a lot of Hollywood gossip at the time.
However, Zac Efron showed his strength of character by not only sticking to the rehab programs, but coming out victorious and sober in 2014. He shared his inspiring story on the Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2016 and has since gotten his career well and truly back on track.

Anyone familiar with Marshal Mathers, AKA Eminem, will not be surprised to hear that the world-famous rapper also struggled with drug abuse. His troubled childhood and controversial lyrics are a big clue into the artist’s personal problems.
Eminem’s turning point came in 2007 when he overdosed on Vicodin and Valium and woke up in hospital. He weighed a staggering 230 pounds at the time of his near-death experience.
With the help of friends and family, Eminem went into drug and alcohol rehab, and through regular exercise managed to control his addictions.

Bradley Cooper

In a 2013 interview with GQ Magazine, the face of the hit movie A Star is Born, Bradley Cooper, revealed how he had struggled privately against a strong addiction to alcohol and painkillers.
The irony is that, by the time Cooper starred in the movie Hangover, a story about four friends who get really drunk while in Las Vegas, he was already sober and had his substance abuse well under control.
He said that what helped him was realizing that if he carried on abusing drugs, he was going to sabotage his whole life.

 

Kelly Osbourne

The Osbourne family is no stranger to drug and alcohol addiction, and one of the children, Kelly Osbourne, has famously been in and out of rehab programs four times! In an interview with Mail on Sunday in 2014, she opened up about how she has managed to finally put her destructive party life behind her.
Although many people were skeptical of her newfound sobriety at first, it seems the singer, songwriter, and actress has managed to take charge of her life finally. It has been recently revealed that she is expecting her first baby with her boyfriend Sid Wilson.

Macklemore

The rapper Macklemore, took to TikTok to share his struggles with drug addiction. It seems that after managing to get sober for a while, the strain of the Covid-19 lockdown measures proved too much for him and he relapsed in 2020.
However, thanks to his dedication and the help of treatment centers, Macklemore said he has been sober for 694 days with no intention of looking back.

Nicki Minaj

In an April 2022 Tweet, rapper Nicki Minaj shared how she used to be happy when high, but has now turned a corner and is happy when sober. In a video of herself cooking fried chicken, Nicki gave some encouragement to her followers and showed how she was now enjoying family life after successfully beating her drug addiction.
