At the time, he had freshly emigrated from Austria and had difficulty communicating. One of his goals in college was to learn English. In 1980, he attended the University of Wisconsin-Superior as a long-distance student. Through hard work, he graduated with a major in international marketing and business administration.

 

Randeep Hooda

Bollywood fans will recognize this famous name. Before making it onto the big screen, Randeep traveled across the world and worked various odd jobs. In 1995, he moved to Melbourne, Australia to further his education. There, he obtained a Bachelor’s in marketing. Continuing his studies, he later earned a Master’s degree in business management and human resource management. You never would have guessed this from watching his dramatic performances in Bollywood!

Becoming a surgeon is already impressive enough, but Dr. Mehmet Oz took it several steps further. He first caught the eye of Harvard, where completed an undergraduate degree in biology. Soon after, he obtained an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania while still pursuing his medical degree at Columbus University. Thanks to his accomplishments, he is now one of the most recognizable faces on television. He is also a successful author and a rising politician. To the surprise of many, he announced plans to run for Senate in November 2022!

In 2005, he completed an online MBA degree program at the University of Phoenix. He later earned a doctorate in education from Barry University in 2012. To this day, Shaquille is continuing to further his education. He has said that his educational achievements are his greatest accomplishments in life. He actively encourages minorities to pursue higher education and is a major supporter of online college. He even paid for many of his friends to attend college classes!

Breaking both gender and racial barriers is international tennis champion Venus Williams. In women’s tennis, she is second only to her younger sister, Serena Williams. One advantage she has over her sister is a Bachelor’s in Business Administration. Venus originally attended classes in person at IU East. Unfortunately, she was quickly recognized despite the school’s efforts to keep her identity confidential. To protect her privacy, Venus completed her degree online from the safety of her home. After putting down the tennis racket in 2011, she found success in running her own athletic fashion line. She plans to return to school one day to obtain her MBA.
